Integrate dbt Cloud with Okta

Enable provisioning for the dbt Cloud app instance to integrate with Okta.

Before you begin

  • You have an active dbt Cloud tenant on the Enterprise or Enterprise+ plan. These plans include SSO, RBAC, and SCIM.
  • You have a dbt Cloud user account with a Developer or Analyst license.
  • You enabled SCIM in dbt Cloud. Go to Account settings > SSO & SCIM, scroll to the bottom of the SSO configuration settings, and click Enable SCIM. See Set up SCIM in the dbt documentation.
  • You have your SCIM base URL. It appears in the SSO & SCIM settings after you enable SCIM. The URL has the form https://access-url/api/v3/accounts/account_id/scim/v2/.
  • You have your account ID. It's the number in place of account_id in the SCIM base URL.
  • You have a SCIM token. Click Create SCIM token in the SSO & SCIM settings.
  • You have permission to manage apps in Okta.

Procedure

  1. In the Admin Console, go to Applications and Resources > Applications.
  2. Click Browse App Catalog.
  3. Search for and select dbt Cloud, and then click Add Integration.
  4. On the General tab, enter the Application label.
  5. Click Done.
  6. Go to the Provisioning tab, click Integration, and then click Configure API Integration.
  7. Select Enable API Integration.
  8. Enter your Access URL, Account ID, and SCIM Token.
  9. Click Test API Credentials.
  10. When the authorization process is complete, click Save.
  11. Select To App under Settings. Click Edit, and then select the provisioning features that you want to enable.
  12. Click Save.
