Search Files

Search for files by parameters.

Unless otherwise indicated, field types are text.

Required fields are indicated by a red asterisk.

Options

  • Result Set: All files (default) returns all files in the search results; First file returns the first file that matches the search criteria.

  • Parent Folder: The target parent folder for the file search.

Input Fields

Not all of the fields are mandatory. Most often the search will only contain the Name field. But if you want to limit the search to more specific locations, then use more inputs to limit the scope of the search.

  • Search By

    • Name: Name of the file

    • Starred(True/False):

      • True: A folder has a "Starred" label applied to it.

      • False: A folder does not have a "Starred" label applied to it

    • Trashed(True/False):

      • True: A folder has a "Trashed" label applied to it.

      • False: A folder does not have a "Trashed" label applied to it

    • Parent Folder ID (dropdown): The unique ID of the parent folder inside of which the file you are searching.

    • Owner (list): Name of the persons who own the file.

    • Writers (list): List of names of people who have edit access to the file.

    • Readers (list): List of names of people who have viewer access to the file.

    • Commenters (list): List of names of people who have commenter access to the file.

Note: If you don't select a search criteria or leave input fields empty, the search results will contain all of the existing files in your Google Drive instance.

Output Fields

  • Files

    • File Name: Name of the files matching searched criteria

    • File ID: Unique ID of the files matching searched criteria.
