Service accounts and keys

The Service Accounts and Keys page in the Identity Security Posture Management console lists the NHIs, and the keys or tokens associated with them, that Identity Security Posture Management discovers across your connected sources.

A service account is a user-created or system-created identity that authenticates to perform automations, integrations, or shared access to your org's resources instead of an individual human signing in.

Identity Security Posture Management discovers the following kinds of service accounts across your connected sources.

User-created service accounts
Dedicated NHIs that an admin creates for automations, integrations, or shared access. For example, a dedicated service account created in Jira or ServiceNow to run a scripted integration.
System-created service accounts
NHIs that a connected app or platform generates automatically to support internal processes or default integrations, without an admin creating the account directly.
Accounts with keys or tokens
Human or service accounts that sign in using an API key, token, certificate, or key pair instead of a password. Examples include AWS access keys, Okta API tokens, Snowflake key-pair credentials, GitHub personal access tokens, and Secure Shell (SSH) keys.
