Perform restores

Access Gateway can restore configurations from a backup.

Restore operations can take several minutes or more depending on the number of applications, number of defined data stores, and other configuration.

During restore operations the Access Gateway cluster is unavailable.
Before starting a restore, ensure that sufficient time is available. Consider scheduling restores during a maintenance window on production Access Gateway clusters.

Post restore backup display

Depending on the selected backup and system state, the number of backups displayed post restore may vary.
Common scenarios:

  • All backups dated after a restore are no longer be displayed. You cannot restore a later backup after restoring an earlier backup unless the backup was downloaded off-appliance.
  • If the earliest backup, by date, is restored, by definition no other backups exist date-wise prior to it. In which case, no backups are displayed.
  • If you restore to a later backup, for example, one stored off-appliance and backups existed prior to the data associated with the restore backup, those backups will now be displayed.
  • If you upgrade from a non-backup supported Access Gateway version to a backup supported Access Gateway version, backups prior to the update date will not be displayed but can be retrieved by support.
