Configure Workato for AI agent imports

To import AI agents from Workato, you need to perform configuration tasks in your Workato workspace.

About this task

Configuring Workato for AI agent imports requires setup in your Workato workspace. In Workato, you create a client role that grants access to Genies, create an API client that uses this role, and then find your host URL and optional folder IDs. Okta uses the API token from this client to authenticate requests to the Workato Agentic API.

Before you begin

  • You have the workspace admin role in Workato.

Procedure

  • Create a client role in Workato
    1. Sign in to your Workato account.
    2. Go to Workspace admin > API clients.
    3. Select Client roles, and click Add client role.
    4. In Project assets, select Genies.
    5. Click Save changes.
  • Create an API client in Workato
    1. Select the API clients tab.
    2. Click Create API client.
    3. In Name, enter a recognizable name (for example, Okta AI Agent Import).
    4. In Client role, select the client role that you created.
    5. In Environment access, select the environment that contains your agents.
    6. In Project access, select one of the following options:
      • All projects: Okta imports agents from every project in the workspace.
      • Selected projects: Okta imports agents only from the projects that you choose.
    7. Click Create client. A dialog appears displaying your API token.
    8. Copy the API token and store it in a secure location.
  • Find your Workato host URL and folder IDs
    1. Find the base URL for your Workato data center. See Base URL in the Workato documentation.
The base URL depends on the data center that hosts your Workato workspace.
    2. Optional. To import agents only from specific folders, go to each folder in Workato and copy the folder ID from the URL.
The folder ID is the number after fid= in the URL. For example, in https://app.workato.com/recipes?fid=12345678, the folder ID is 12345678.
    3. Record the host URL and any folder IDs.
When you configure the AI agent import in Okta, enter the host URL in Workato Host URL, the API token in API Key, and any folder IDs in Folder IDs.
