Splunk Cloud supported features

This table lists the features and functionality available with a Splunk Cloud integration.

Feature Description

Push new users

Users created in Okta are also created in Splunk Cloud.

Here are some important things to note:

  • When assigning a new user in Okta, a role must be specified.
  • The Username and Email Address must be identical and unique.

Push profile update

Updates to the Okta user profile are pushed to Splunk Cloud.

Here are some important things to note:

  • You can't update your Username and Email.
  • Editing an existing username, creates a user account and removes the previously created account.
  • In Splunk Cloud, the user's full name is populated by concatenating their First Name and Last Name as stored in Okta.
  • If you encounter 500 Internal Server error or if roles are missing from the user list, verify that the role name must consist of valid characters only.
  • You can't update these default system users: admin, index-manager, cmon_user, internal_monitoring, and app-installer.

Push password updates

Updates made to the password in Okta are automatically synced to Splunk Cloud.

Push user deactivation

Deactivating the user or disabling the user's access to the app through Okta deletes the user in Splunk Cloud.

Import new users

Users created in Splunk Cloud are imported into Okta.

Import user schema

User schema in the Splunk Cloud can be downloaded into Okta.

Entitlement Management

You can manage app entitlements for Splunk Cloud in Okta. If the app supports Okta Identity Governance, then you need to enable it to manage entitlements.
