Set schedule options

When you create a new scheduled flow, Okta Workflows prompts you to provide a schedule. Polling monitors default to checking every five minutes.

To change the flow schedule at any time, click the clock icon at the bottom of the Scheduled Flow event card.

The Flow Schedule dialog includes several options:

Frequency

Choose a division of time for scheduling your flow.

  • Minute: Choose a specific number of minutes from the dropdown list. For example, select 15 to run the flow every 15 minutes. You can optionally set a time range restriction, such as between 09:00 and 17:00. You can also specify which days of the week the flow is run.

  • Hour: Choose a specific number of hours from the dropdown list. For example, select 2 to run the flow every 2 hours. The default is to run on the hour or you can specify an exact number of minutes after the hour.

As with Minutes, you can specify a time range restriction and specific days.

  • Day: The flow runs once a day at the time specified.

  • Week: Choose a time and which days to run the flow, over the course of a week.

  • Month: Choose a monthly interval, a time of day, and a numerical day of the month to run the flow. For example, you can set a quarterly report flow to run at 9:00 on the first day of a month in every three-month period.

Advanced Options

Specify extra options for the schedule of your flow.

  • Exact: For granular control, select this option and use the dropdown list to specify the exact minutes to run the flow. The values in the dropdown list vary depending on the Minute frequency that you select.

This option is only available when you select the Minute frequency.

  • No earlier than: Specify that the event scheduler should start when the flow is turned on, or on a specific date.

  • No later than: Specify that the event scheduler should end when the flow is turned on, or after a specific date.

  • Timezone: Specify what timezone to use for the scheduled events.

  • Summary: This field displays the selected scheduling options in sentence form.

Click Save to confirm your changes.

After the flow is turned on, a countdown timer appears in the flow header pane to indicate the time of the next execution.
