Create Membership

Membership Type

Select the type of membership to create.

• Goal

• Project

Member

ID

The global identifier of the user or team.

Goal or Project

ID

The global identifier of the goal or project where the member is to be added.

Membership

Is Active?

Indicates if the member should be made active.

This applies to all memberships.

Role

The role that is granted to the member.

For goals, this can be editor or commenter. The default is commenter.

For projects, this can be admin, editor, or commenter. The default role depends on the default role configured for the project.

Membership

ID

The globally unique identifier of the membership.

Access Level

This output field appears if you select Project as the Membership Type option.

This indicates whether the member has admin, editor, or commenter access for the project.

Resource Subtype

The type of the membership, for example, goal_membership.

Resource Type

The base type of this resource, for example, membership.

Role

This output field appears if you select Goal as the Membership Type option.

This indicates the role given to the member. The values can be commenter or editor.

Member

ID

The globally unique identifier of the member.

Name

The name of the member.

Resource Type

This indicates the type of the member. The values can be team or user.

Goal or Project

ID

The globally unique identifier of the goal or project.

Resource Type

The base type of this resource.

Name

The name of the goal or project.

Owner

This output field appears if you select Goal as the Membership Type option.

The owner is an object with three properties.

• ID (Text) - The globally unique identifier of the owner.

• Name (Text) - The name of the owner.

• Resource Type (Text) - The base type of this resource.

If Asana returns a null value for the Owner object then these property values are empty strings.
