Assign app integrations

When setting up or maintaining users, you can assign the app integrations that Okta displays on your End-User Dashboard. You can assign app integrations individually or assign them to groups.

There are three ways to assign individual app integrations.

From the Applications page

  1. In the Admin Console, go to ApplicationsApplications.
  2. Search for or scroll down to the app integration that you want to assign to one or more users or groups.
  3. Click the Action dropdown menu on the right side of the app integration.
  4. Choose Assign to Users or Assign to Groups.
  5. On the dialog that appears, click Assign next to the name of the person or group.
  6. Assign more users or groups, or click Done.

From within a specific app integration

  1. In the Admin Console, go to ApplicationsApplications.
  2. Search for or scroll down to the app integration that you want to assign to one or more users or groups.
  3. Click the individual app integration to view its settings page.
  4. Select the Assignments tab.
  5. Click the Assign dropdown menu.
  6. Choose either Assign to People or Assign to Groups.
  7. An Assign {app name} to People or Assign {app name} to Groups dialog appears, listing the available end users or groups who are not already assigned to the selected app integration.
  8. Click Assign next to each user or group for which you want this app integration assigned. For users, you may need to complete the Attributes dialog.
  9. After you have assigned the app integration to the required users or groups, click Done.

Use the Assign Users to App action

  1. In the Admin Console, go to ApplicationsApplications.
  2. Click Assign Users to App. The Assign Applications page appears. The left side of the page shows a list of available Applications. The right side of the page shows a list of People in your org.
  1. From the list of available Applications, select one or more app integrations that you want to assign. Selecting the checkbox beside Application Label at the top of the list selects all of the app integrations.
  2. To bulk assign the app integrations to one or more users in your org, select the users from the list of People. Selecting the checkbox beside Person Username at the top of the list assigns the applications to all users.
  3. To bulk assign the app integrations to one or more groups instead:
    1. Click the dropdown menu next to the Search by person field.
    2. Select Search by group.
    3. Enter the name of the group in the search field.
    4. Click the name of the group.
    5. Select one or more of the individual users from the group to assign the selected app integrations.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Review the summary page and complete any additional information requested on the page.
  6. Click Confirm Assignments.
