Configure Office 365 GCC Tenant
US government customers and their contractors can add their Microsoft Office 365 Government Community Cloud (GCC) tenant in Okta. Okta securely connects the Office 365 tenant to the appropriate Office 365 endpoints and takes care of the back-end workflow.
When integrating an Office 365 tenant in Okta, select the commercial Microsoft Office 365 app.
- Okta doesn't validate the tenant type. Ensure that you've selected the right tenant type for your tenant. If you're unsure of your tenant type, select the default option.
- Before installing any Office 365 tenant in Okta, refer to the Microsoft Office 365 Deployment Guide for prerequisites.
Before you begin
- You have a valid GCC Microsoft Office 365 domain.
- You meet the requirements in the Microsoft Office 365 deployment guide.
Start this task
- Follow the steps mentioned in the Add Office 365 to Okta topic to add the GCC Microsoft Office 365 tenant. Ensure that you enter the tenant and credentials of a GCC environment when configuring the integration.
- When you configure the GCC tenant, Microsoft requests permissions for the Okta Microsoft API Client - Federation app and the Okta Office 365 Graph Client - SSO app. These two apps enable domain federation and user provisioning, respectively. Click Accept in the permissions window. For more information about how Okta integrates with the Microsoft Partner Network, see this Microsoft article.
Limitations
- The Sway app isn't supported in the GCC environment. You may still see the Sway option in the configuration because the commercial Microsoft Office 365 app is used for the integration. To hide it, you can clear the Sway app in the App Settings either during creation or at a later stage in the app configuration.
- The Power BI app in the GCC environment uses a different sign-in URL than the commercial app, causing authentication to fail. However, as a workaround, you can create a Bookmark app integration for Power BI to enable users to launch the app from the Okta End-User Dashboard. See Create a Bookmark App integration.
