Okta Verify

Okta Verify is a multifactor authentication (MFA) app that enables users to confirm their identity when they sign in to their Okta account or Okta-protected resources. Users can also set up Okta Verify as a third-party authenticator for accessing sites that require multifactor authentication such as GitHub, Facebook, or Google.

To use Okta Verify, you must first enable and configure it for your org. Then, users can install the Okta Verify app on their devices and add an account. When users access Okta-protected apps, they can verify their identity by approving an Okta Verify push notification, or by using a one-time code generated by the app.

Are you an end user and want to set up and use Okta Verify? See Okta Verify for end users.

Enable and configure Okta Verify

  1. Configure Okta Verify.
  2. Configure Risk scoring. The risk scoring engine assesses sign-in attempts against various criteria and assigns risk levels. You can use the risk level to configure dynamic responses in your enrollment and sign-on policies.
  3. Notify users to install Okta Verify and add an account. See Okta Verify end-user documentation.
