Artifactory supported features

This table lists the features and functionality available with a Artifactory integration.

Feature Description

Push new users

Users created in Okta are also created in Artifactory.

Here are some important things to note:

  • Users' passwords are always set in Okta. In Artifactory, the Internal Password Disabled setting is turned off by default.
  • You don't need to assign a role when you create a user in Okta.
  • You can assign more than one role to a user, but you must assign them individually to avoid conflicts.

Push profile updates

Updates to the Okta user profile are pushed to Artifactory.

Here are some important things to note:

  • You can use this feature to update the user's email, custom fields (Disable UI access and Profile updatable), and Entitlements.
  • You can't use this feature to update the value of the Internal Password Disabled setting in Artifactory.
Push user deactivation Deactivating a user or disabling their access also deactivates or disables the user in Artifactory.
Push password updates Changes made to a user's password in Okta are automatically synced in Artifactory.

Here are some important things to note:

  • Passwords must be at least 8 characters in length and include 1 uppercase and 1 numeric character.
  • To use Okta Privileged Access, the Internal Password Disabled setting must be disabled for the user in Artifactory.
Push groups

Groups and their memberships in Okta are pushed to Artifactory.

Here are some important things to note:

  • Each group must have a unique group name.
  • You can use this feature to update the group description but not the group name.
  • Group linking isn't supported for Artifactory.
Import new users Users created in Artifactory can be imported into Okta.

Here are some important things to note:

  • Artifactory doesn't have first name and last name fields. When you import from Artifactory into Okta, the first name is set to their primary email and the last name is set to LNU (last name undefined).
  • If you import multiple users with the same email address, an error appears.

Import profile updates

Updates made to a user's profile in Artifactory are downloaded and applied to the profile fields in Okta.
Reactivate users

Reactivating a user in Okta also reactivates the user in Artifactory.

Import user schema

Imports more user attributes from Artifactory. This is also known as schema discovery.

Entitlement Management

You can manage app entitlements for Artifactory in Okta. If the app supports Okta Identity Governance, then you need to enable it to manage entitlements.

You can use this feature to assign the following generic roles with entitlements:

  • Platform Administrator
  • Manage Resources
  • Manage Webhook
  • Manage Policies
  • Read Policies
  • Manage Watches
  • Manage Reports
