Database integration prerequisites

Early Access release

Before you begin, ensure you have completed the following prerequisites:

You must be a member of the Okta Privileged Access resource admin group.
Create a dedicated user on the database instance with the necessary permissions: discovering accounts, rotating passwords, and managing access–to manage the integration. This user is called the Integration User in Okta Privileged Access.
Launch an Okta Privileged Access gateway using a setup token that supports database integration. Ensure the gateway has outbound connectivity to both your database instance and the Okta Privileged Access service. See Install the Okta Privileged Access gateway.
Ensure that the gateway that serves this integration has network connectivity to the required database endpoint. See Permissions for database access
Review the minimal permissions that Okta Privileged Access requires for the database integration user to have for each database instance. Without these permissions, creation of a new integration will fail. See Permissions for database access.
