Workflows Administrator

The Workflows Administrator role has full administration and management privileges within the Okta Workflows product.

This role has no permissions to perform any actions in the Okta Admin Console.

When a super admin assigns this role to a user or group, the Okta Workflows app is automatically assigned and added to their Okta End-User Dashboard.

Permissions

A Workflows Administrator has the largest set of permissions in Okta Workflows:

  • View, assign, and manage all non-administrator roles that apply to Okta Workflows. See Manage Workflow roles.
  • View, assign, and manage access to all Okta Workflows resources including folders, tables, and flows.
  • Create, modify, and delete flows.
  • Create, authorize, and modify any connections to Okta or other third-party applications and services.
  • View and clear flow execution history.
  • View and modify any sensitive data generated by flows.
  • Install Okta Workflows templates.
  • Build new connectors for Okta Workflows using the Connector Builder feature.

For a complete summary of the permissions for this role, see Resource permissions.

Restrictions

  • A user or group assigned to the Workflows Administrator role can't grant the Workflows Administrator role to other users or groups in the Okta org. Only an Okta super admin can assign that role through the Okta Admin Console.

  • This role can't assign the Okta Workflows app to any user or group. This requires a super admin role and is done in the Okta Admin Console.

  • The role-based access control (RBAC) feature adds a Workflows Resource Set to support the Workflows Administrator role. You can't modify this resource set.
