Install the Advanced Server Access server agent on Ubuntu
You need to add the repository where the server tools reside, trust the repository signing key, and update the available packages to install and use the agent.
To install the agent:
- Add the Advanced Server Access apt repository:
echo "deb http://pkg.scaleft.com/deb linux main" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
Note: You can also download the latest package directly from: https://dist.scaleft.com/server-tools/linux/latest/scaleft-server-tools_latest_amd64.deb
- Trust the repository signing key:
curl -C - https://dist.scaleft.com/pki/scaleft_deb_key.asc | sudo apt-key add -
- Update the list of available packages:
sudo apt-get update
- Install the Advanced Server Access server tools:
sudo apt-get install scaleft-server-tools
The sftd daemon should start automatically. Check /var/log/sftd.log to verify that the daemon is running.
Note: For servers running Ubuntu 20.04 or later, you have to allow certificate authorities (CAs) to use the ssh-rsa algorithm to sign certificates. To do this, add the following line to your OpenSSH daemon file (which is either /etc/ssh/sshd_config or a drop-in file under /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/):
