Define geolocation for a dynamic zone

You can create dynamic zones based on geographic regions.

An update to the universal ISO standard for region codes and country codes has resulted in some discrepancies between new codes for China and the codes that appear in Okta. As a result, Okta recommends that you update your region codes for China by editing any affected dynamic zones to prevent any issues.

Before you begin

Create a dynamic zone. See Create a dynamic zone for instructions.

Define geolocation for a dynamic zone

  1. In the Admin Console, go to SecurityNetworks.

  2. Browse the list of dynamic zones. For China region codes, browse for any entries that display a regional character code for China instead of the region name. For example, CN-33.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Under Locations, select the correct region name from the list and click Save.

  5. Optional. For regional codes for China, repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 for each entry for China that doesn't display the region name correctly.

When you edit a network zone, wait approximately 60 seconds for the change to propagate across all servers and take effect.
