Services

The Services menu allows you to start, stop, and restart services on the Access Gateway appliance, check the status of running services, and perform other service management tasks.

Enter 2 at the Management console main menu to enter the Services submenu.

Service commands

NGINX

The NGINX menu allows you to start, stop, and restart the NGINX service, check the status of the service, and regenerate the SSL certificate.

  1. Start: Start the NGINX service.
  2. Stop: Stop the NGINX service.
  3. Restart: Restart the NGINX service.
  4. Check status: Display the NGINX service status, such as whether the service is running or stopped.
  5. Re-generate SSL Certificate: Enter the domain name for the certificate that you want to regenerate, and then press Enter. Select an option to generate a wildcard certificate or one for the host only.
  6. Update SSL certificate: Update the SSL certificate.
    1. The list of SSL certificates appears when you select this menu item.
    2. Press Enter and then enter the domain name of the certificate that you want to update. Have the contents of the replacement certificate file available and ready to paste into an editor.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to insert, modify, and save an updated certificate.
  7. Disable TLS 1.1: Disable support for Transport Layer Security 1.1.
  8. Enable TLS 1.1: Enable support for Transport Layer Security 1.1.
  9. Manage Ciphers: Manage the cipher suite.
    1. The current cipher suite appears when you select this menu item.
    2. Enter the new cipher suite. Cipher suites are separated by a colon ':'. Use the prefix '!' to exclude cipher suites.

Access Gateway Admin

The Access Gateway Admin submenu allows you to start, stop, and restart the Access Gateway Admin service, check its status, and manage its maximum memory size.

  1. Start: Start the Access Gateway Admin service.
  2. Stop: Stop the Access Gateway Admin service.
  3. Restart: Restart the Access Gateway Admin service.
  4. Check status: Display the Access Gateway Admin service status.
  5. Manage Memory: Configure and validate the maximum memory size for the Access Gateway Admin service.
    1. The current memory settings appear when you select this menu item.
    2. Press m - Modify Maximum Memory Assigned to change the maximum amount of memory.
    3. Enter the amount of maximum amount of memory in megabytes. You can configure from 256 megabytes to 1146 megabytes.
    4. Press Enter.
    5. Press y to restart the Access Gateway Admin service.

NTP

The NTP submenu allows you to configure time synchronization.

  1. Setup chronyd: Set up NTP servers for Access Gateway to use for time synchronization.
  2. Start chronyd: Start the NTP service.
  3. Stop chronyd: Stop the NTP service.
  4. Restart chronyd: Restart the NTP service.
  5. Check status: Display NTP service status.
  6. Set System Time: Set the system time.

Session Cache

The Session Cache submenu allows you to start, stop, and restart the Session Cache service. You can also check its status, view running statistics, and change its memory usage.

  1. Start: Start the session cache service.
  2. Stop: Stop the session cache service.
  3. Restart: Restart the sessions cache service.
  4. Status Session Cache: Display cache service status.
  5. Display Running Statistics: Display cache service status.
  6. Change Memory Usage[...]: Change the memory that's allocated to the session cache.
    1. Select 6 - Change Memory Usage[...]
    2. Enter one of these values:
      • value: A specific value in megabytes. For example, 1500 sets the memory allocation to 1500 megabytes.
      • - value: All memory minus a value. For example, -500 sets the memory allocation to 500 megabytes less than the total memory.
      • value%: A percentage of memory. For example, 30% sets the memory allocation to 30% of total memory.
      • -value%: All memory less a percentage value. For example, -10% sets the memory allocation to 10% less than the total memory.

DNS Resolver

The DNS Resolver submenu allows you to start, stop, restart, and reset the DNS Resolver service, and check its status.

  1. Start: Start the DNS Resolver service.
  2. Stop: Stop the DNS Resolver service.
  3. Restart: Restart the DNS Resolver service.
  4. Check status: Display DNS Resolver service status.
  5. Reset: Reset the DNS Resolver service.
