Deploy Okta Verify to Android devices
You can install Okta Verify on managed and unmanaged Android devices.
For managed devices, use your Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution to deploy Okta Verify to your devices, using one of the following methods:
- Deploy Okta Verify to devices from the Google Play Store
- Download Okta Verify from Okta, and then deploy it to devices
For unmanaged devices, use one of the following methods:
- Allow end users to download Okta Verify directly from the Google Play Store.
- Allow end users to download Okta Verify from a server location that you set up. This method is useful for users at locations where the Google Play Store isn't available to download Okta Verify from (for example, in China).
In the Okta Admin Console, go to , select Download Latest for Okta Verify for Android, and then save the APK file on a server location that's accessible to users. Inform users that they must configure their devices to allow apps from sources other than the Google Play Store before they can install Okta Verify.
Note:Okta strongly discourages off-market distribution of Okta Verify. Okta recommends that you install Okta Verify from the Google Play Store whenever possible. Use an alternative installation method only when the Google Play Store is unavailable.
When Google services aren't available, several features of Okta Verify aren't functional. This includes, but isn't limited to, the ability for end users to authenticate into your org using push notifications from Okta Verify.
Deploy Okta Verify to Android devices
Configure your MDM tool to download Okta Verify from the Google Play Store, and then deploy it to targeted user devices. This deployment method supports the auto-update feature available in most MDM solutions.
Download Okta Verify from Okta, and then deploy it to devices
In the Admin Console, go to .
For Okta Verify for Android, select Download Latest to download an APK file with the latest version of Okta Verify.

Configure your MDM tool to deploy the app (APK file) to targeted user devices.
This deployment method doesn't support the auto-update feature available in most MDM solutions. To deploy new versions of the app, manually download Okta Verify from the Admin Console, and then configure your MDM tool to deploy the app to devices.
