BMC Remedyforce supported features

This table lists the features that are available with BMC Remedyforce integration.

Feature Description

Push new users

Users created in Okta are also created in BMC Remedyforce.

Here are some important things to note:

  • When assigning a new user, the following fields are mandatory:
    • LastName
    • Email
    • Username
    • Alias (maximum length of 8 characters)
    • TimeZoneSidKey
    • LocaleSidKey
    • EmailEncodingKey
    • ProfileId
    • LanguageLocaleKey
  • Assign the specific ProfileId for BMC Remedyforce.

Push profile updates

Updates to the Okta user profile are pushed to BMC Remedyforce.

Here are some important things to note:

  • You can update the following fields for a user:
    • FirstName
    • EmailAlias
    • TimeZoneSidKey
    • LocaleSidKey
    • EmailEncodingKey
    • ProfileId
    • LanguageLocaleKey
  • Updating the Username deactivates the original user and creates a user with the updated value.
  • You can't update the user's email address.

Push user deactivation

Users deactivated in Okta are also deactivated in BMC Remedyforce.

Import new users

Users created in BMC Remedyforce are imported into Okta.

Import profile updates

Updates made to a user's profile in BMC Remedyforce are automatically downloaded and updated in Okta.

Reactivate users

Users reactivated in Okta are also reactivated in BMC Remedyforce.

Push groups

Groups and their members can be pushed to integrated apps. See Manage groups.

Here are some important things to note:

  • A Group Name with Unicode characters can't be imported into Okta.
  • The Group Name defined in Okta can be mapped to the Label field in the BMC Helix Remedyforce UI.
