Authorization

When you add a Airtable card to a flow for the first time, Okta Workflows prompts you to configure the connection. This connection links to your Airtable account and saves your account information so you can reuse the connection in flows that include Airtable.

You can create multiple unique connections and manage them from the Connections page in the Okta Workflows Console.

Airtable is deprecating the existing API Key authorization method. See Airtable API key deprecation notice. Airtable users can't create API keys after August 1, 2023. Existing API keys can be used until February 1, 2024.

The new authorization method for Airtable connections from Okta Workflows uses personal access tokens. See the Airtable developer guide on Personal access tokens.

The following procedure explains how to create the Airtable connection using either method.

Create a connection from an action card

  1. Click New Connection.

  2. Enter a Connection Nickname. Names are useful if you plan to create multiple Airtable connections to share with your team.

  3. Select the authorization method from the Authorize By dropdown menu. You can select either API Key or Personal Access Token.

  4. Provide either the API Key or the Personal Access Token in the text field.

  5. Click Create.
