Integrate Slack with Okta

  1. Add the Slack app to Okta if it wasn't previously added:
    1. In the Admin Console, go to ApplicationsApplications.

    2. Click Browse App Catalog.
    3. Search the catalog for Slack and select it from the results.
    4. Click Add Integration.
    5. On the General Settings page, complete the fields. If you're using Slack Enterprise Grid, include .enterprise in your domain name. Click Next.
    6. Select a sign-on option from the Sign on methods section. If you select SAML 2.0, click View Setup Instructions and follow the instructions.
    7. Click Done.
  2. If the app was previously added, select and open the app:
    1. In the Admin Console, go to ApplicationsApplications.

    2. Select Slack from the list of applications.
  3. Go to the Provisioning tab, click Configure API Integration, and then select Enable API integration.
  4. Click Authenticate with Slack. Slack opens in a new window.
  5. Sign in to Slack and click Authorize. The Slack window closes, you're returned to the Okta Admin Console, and the message stating that Slack was verified successfully appears.

  6. Click Save.
  7. Optional. Change the Okta to Slack provisioning settings:
    1. Go to the Provisioning tab and select To App under Settings.
    2. Select your provisioning options.
    3. Click Save.
  8. Optional. Assign users to the Slack app. See Assign applications to users.
