Configure application provisioning

Provision an application to manage the user lifecycle between Okta and the application.

  1. In the Admin Console, go to Applications > Applications.
  2. Enter the name of the application in the Search field.
  3. Click the application name and click the Provisioning tab.

    An app-specific Configuration Guide is accessible on the Provisioning tab in the application. The guide details the exact settings necessary to set up provisioning between the app and Okta.

  4. Click Configure API Integration.
  5. Select Enable API integration.
  6. Complete the authentication fields. These may include:
    • Username — Enter the application administrator username.
    • Password — Enter the application password.
    • Token — Enter the application security token.
    • Push Null Values — Select this option to pass null values to Okta.
    • Import Groups — Selected by default. To remove application groups from Okta, clear the check box and then click Continue in the Disable Import Groups dialog box.
  7. Click Test API Credentials to test your API credentials. If you receive an error, verify and enter your credentials again.
  8. Click Save.

  9. From the Settings column on the left side of the screen, select from the three provisioning configurations: To App, To Okta, and API Integration.
  10. Click Edit.
  11. Select the provisioning options and click Save.
  12. Optional. Scroll down to the Attribute Mappings area and click Go to Profile Editor.
  13. Click Mappings and click the Okta User to <application name> tab.
  14. Edit the attributes and click Save Mappings.
  15. Click Apply updates now.
