Okta Mobile for Android

End of support for Android operating systems earlier than 6.0

After December 31, 2019, Okta will end support for all Okta products on Android operating systems versions earlier than 6.0. Accordingly, Okta recommends that you direct your end usersIn Okta literature, we generally refer to "end users" as the people who have their own Okta home page (My Applications), using chiclets to authenticate into all of their apps. End users do not have any administrative control. When we refer to "users" we are generally referring to the individual(s) who have administrative control. to update their Android devices to a supported version (6.0 or higher) before that date.

Obtaining Okta Mobile for Android from the Downloads page

Okta Mobile for Android is typically available on the Downloads page approximately two weeks following the initial release. This provides an alternative way to access Okta Mobile and Okta Mobile/Verify Android installation software (APK files) in locations where the Google Play Store and Google Services are not available (for example, in China). Support for enhanced Okta Mobile security settings in the Okta Admin Console that allow admins to manage PIN length and complexity. For details, see Okta Mobile Settings.


This release fixes these bugs as well as several internally-found bugs:

  • OKTA-203260 – After signing in to Okta Mobile and being challenged for MFA, iOS device users who clicked Sign Out or whose session had timed out were redirected to the Okta web Sign-In Page instead of the Okta Mobile Sign-In page.
  • OKTA-203262 – For some users, a horizontal line appeared on the Touch ID for Okta Mobile challenge screen.
