Yes. If you want to install Okta Verify on multiple mobile and desktop devices, first install Okta Verify on your mobile device (iOS or Android) and set up multiple authentication factors (for example, Yubikey or SMS), and then install Okta Verify on your macOS device.
Your Okta Verify account is no longer valid, so it can no longer be used. If you have the option to re-enroll, re-enroll your account. Otherwise, contact your help desk if you need additional support.
See Disable Touch ID on macOS devices. Note that if Touch ID is required by your organization, you can’t disable it. Also, if your app requires Touch ID, it might not be accessible if Touch ID is disabled.
This is a known issue. It occurs if the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID disconnects from your desktop device during enrollment or authentication. Okta Verify assumes that Touch ID is not set up on the device, so it prompts you to enable Touch ID. To avoid this issue, make sure the Magic Keyboard is correctly connected to the desktop device, the Touch ID sensor is accessible, and that the hardware works as expected.
This a known issue for macOS 11 (Big Sur) and earlier, but Apple has fixed the issue for macOS 12 (Monterey). You can avoid this issue in the future by updating your device to macOS 12 (Monterey). To resolve this issue now, restart Okta Verify.
This is a known issue. As a workaround, click the Sign in with your browser instead link in the lower portion of the page to access the app.
If you are able to, install Okta Verify from the Apple App Store and then add an account to register your macOS device. If you don't have an Apple ID or if your laptop is managed by your organization, contact your help desk.
