Import existing accounts to an iOS device using Bluetooth
If you already use Okta Verify and want to authenticate with the same account on a new iOS device, you can sync your devices using Bluetooth.
This allows you to add your existing Okta Verify accounts, Device Access codes, or third-party accounts directly to the other device without signing in to the Okta End-User Dashboard.
Before you begin

Use the latest version of Okta Verify. Check the Apple App Store for updates.

You must have Face ID or passcode confirmation enabled on your new device.

Confirm that both your new and original devices have Bluetooth available and enabled.
If you're transferring an Okta Verify account:

You must have Okta FastPass enabled in your Okta Verify account.

Open the Okta Verify app on your original device and confirm that your account doesn't have any warnings or errors. See Resolve Okta Verify account issues on Android devices or Resolve Okta Verify account issues on iOS devices.
If you're transferring a Device Access code or a third-party account:

Start on your original device. Open the Okta Verify app and follow the steps for your original device platform:

Tap your account.

On the Account details page, tap Export account and follow the instructions.

To allow Okta Verify to export your account to the new device using a Bluetooth connection, tap Allow.

To allow Okta Verify to export your account to the new device using a Bluetooth connection, tap or click Allow.
Note: If the original device is an iOS device, then you can also export a Device Access code or a third-party account using this method. These account transfer types aren't supported if the original device is an Android, macOS, or Windows device.Okta Verify generates both a QR code and an alphanumeric code with numbers and letters. If your new device can't scan a QR code, copy the alphanumeric code to use later.

Install the Okta Verify app on your new iOS device.

On the new device, open the Okta Verify app. Tap Import account and follow the instructions.

To allow Okta Verify to import your account from your original device using a Bluetooth connection, tap Continue.

Set up the account. For this step, you need either the QR code or the alphanumeric code generated by Okta Verify on your original device.

Scan the QR code displayed on your original device. Tap Scan QR code, and then point your camera at the QR code displayed on the original device.

If your new device can't scan the QR code, tap Enter Code Manually. Enter the 8-character alphanumeric code from your original device.
If the account setup is successful, a 6-digit PIN appears.

Confirm that you're pairing the right devices. Take the 6-digit PIN displayed in Okta Verify on the new device, and enter that into Okta Verify on your original device.
CAUTION:Don't enter a PIN given to you by anyone else.

Follow the instructions to complete the setup.
You can now use the account on your new iOS device.
