Control access to the Okta Browser Plugin

Okta lets you control which users can access your org's Okta Browser Plugin.

Admin roles for this task

  • You must have super admin permissions to change access to the Okta Browser Plugin.
  • If you choose to deny access to the Okta Browser Plugin, affected users keep their existing access level until the next time they sign in.

Configure access to the Okta Browser Plugin

You can allow or deny access to the Okta Browser Plugin for groups and specific users.

The rules that you configure to protect access to the Okta Browser Plugin must be the same strength or weaker than those protecting the Okta End-User Dashboard. See Control access to the Okta End-User Dashboard.

  1. In the Admin Console, go to SecurityAuthentication Policies.
  2. Select the Okta Browser Plugin app.
  3. On the Rules tab, click Add rule.
  4. Follow the instructions in Add an authentication policy rule
