Governance for Workflows

Early Access release. See Enable self-service features.

You can use Okta Identity Governance to manage access to Workflows roles. This helps you ensure that access to Workflows is granted consistently and in compliance with your company's requirements.

With Governance for Workflows you can:

  • Govern access to Workflows roles and manage user governance policies through the Okta Admin Console.

  • Create access request conditions for access to Workflows roles.

  • Review and remediate user access to Workflows roles through Access Certification campaigns.

The following Workflows roles are supported:

  • Workflows Auditor

  • Connection Manager

You can manage access to the Workflows Administrator role through governance for Okta admin roles.

Set up Governance for Workflows

All Governance for Workflows configuration is done in the Okta Admin Console. After you enable the feature, complete the following one-time setup and import steps.

  1. In the Okta Admin Console, go to ApplicationsApplications.

  2. Search for and select the Workflows app.

  3. Go to the General tab.

  4. Click Edit in the Entitlement Management section.

  5. From the Entitlement Management dropdown menu, select Enabled.

  6. Go to the Governance tab.

  7. Click Sync entitlements in the banner. This pulls the app's entitlement values from the downstream system into Okta. It may take some time for entitlements to populate in the table. Refresh the page to check if the sync is complete.

  8. Click Back to application.

  9. Go to the Import tab.

  10. Click Import Now.

After you import Workflows users, you manage them in the Okta Admin Console. See Identity Governance.

After you enable Governance for Workflows, you can't edit the supported Workflows roles in the Workflows Console. If Governance for Workflows isn't enabled, the import doesn't work.
